Decatur County Court Calendars Explained
The Indiana Trial Court Calendars search organizes public settings by county, court, and date. Its Decatur County court list currently returns Decatur Superior Court. Results can include date, time, case, court, hearing description, judicial officer, location, and phone. The current dropdown does not show Circuit Court, which is a limit of the public endpoint rather than proof that Circuit holds no hearings.
The calendar offers a rolling window. State guidance describes the prior seven days and the next four weeks. Data can change as settings move. Use Previous Day and Next Day to move within the available range, then compare a row with MyCase and the latest signed order.
Decatur County Circuit Calendar Gap
The current public dropdown returns Superior Court but not Circuit Court. That is a display finding, not proof that Circuit holds no hearing. A Circuit case can still have a valid setting in its CCS or signed order.
Use the number to confirm the court. For 16C01 matters, call Circuit Court or the Clerk. For 16D01 matters, the public Superior calendar helps, but direct confirmation controls when a row is absent.
Finding Your Court Date
Begin with the source named on the notice or citation. For an online check, choose Decatur County in the state calendar and enter a valid date. The case-name or case-number box can narrow the day and accepts no more than 75 characters. Then compare the result with the case events in Indiana MyCase.
- Open the calendar, choose Decatur County, select Superior Court if appropriate, and set the date.
- Search by the exact case number or a narrow case name when needed.
- Open MyCase and compare the setting with the latest CCS event or order.
- Call the Clerk at 812-663-8223, Superior Court at 812-663-8523, or Circuit Court at 812-663-8455 when a row is missing.
- Check with counsel and any courthouse posting or direct court notice before appearing.
How to Read a Court Setting
A Decatur County calendar row must be read as a set. Date and time identify when the session is scheduled. Court and judicial officer identify the assigned forum. Description states the type of proceeding. Location may state the room or courthouse site. None alone proves that the setting remains active.
| Date | The scheduled session date within the rolling public window. |
|---|---|
| Time | The listed start or timeslot, subject to court confirmation. |
| Courtroom | The published location or room, when supplied. |
| Judge | The listed judicial officer, which can include an assigned magistrate. |
| Setting Type | The hearing description, such as initial hearing, pretrial, motion hearing, or trial. |
Continuances, Resets, and Cancellations
A continuance request asks the court to move a setting. It does not change the date unless the court grants it. The CCS may show the motion, an order, and a new hearing event as separate entries. The public calendar may later replace or drop the old row. Always look for the court's ruling.
If a setting vanishes, check MyCase and call the court. Do not assume cancellation. The citation or summons controls the first appearance information, while a later signed order can change it. Decatur does not publish a same-day cancellation protocol, so direct confirmation is the safe local path.
If You Miss a Court Setting
Contact the assigned court, the Decatur County Clerk, and counsel as soon as possible. Ask whether the CCS shows an order, new date, failure-to-appear event, or other direction. Do not guess at a remedy or appear at a new time without confirmation. The correct response depends on the case type and what the judge entered.
Missed a setting? Consequences can differ by case, and only the court record can show what was entered.
Call the correct Decatur court or Clerk at once and ask how to confirm the current status.
Consult a licensed attorney about the missed setting and any required response.
Decatur County Calendar Window
The state's official explanation describes a seven-day lookback and four-week lookahead. That window is useful for near-term settings but is not a full case history. Older hearings belong in the CCS, and a future date beyond the window may still be valid.
The calendar information page explains the publication limits.

This time range explains why a valid Decatur County setting may not yet appear.
Decatur County Calendar Controls
The live form requires County and Date. Court is optional and depends on the chosen county. The optional case box narrows by name or number. Find Hearings submits the request, Reset clears it, and day buttons move across the supported range.
| Control | Use | Decatur note |
|---|---|---|
| County | Required filter | Choose Decatur |
| Court | Optional filter | Currently Superior Court |
| Date | Required date | MM/DD/YYYY |
| Case search | Optional narrowing | 75-character limit |
The official calendar interface shows these controls.

Use the smallest useful set of filters, then confirm the row against the case.
The result itself can expose more than the visible search controls. Published fields may include the hearing description, session start and end time, location, city, judicial officers, court phone, time zone, and the time when the feed refreshed. Those fields help identify the listed session, but a refresh time is not proof that no later change occurred. Save the case number and call the court if a same-day change would affect attendance.
A name or case number only narrows the chosen date. It does not search the full history of the case. If no row appears, move to MyCase and read the CCS for a scheduling event or order. The citation or summons remains important for an initial appearance. This fallback chain prevents a blank calendar result from being mistaken for a canceled Decatur County court date.
Decatur Superior Court Calendar
The public county list returned Decatur Superior Court during research. The official Superior Court page provides the direct local contact and confirms the court's county role.

Call 812-663-8523 when the online setting is absent or unclear. Circuit matters should be confirmed with Circuit Court at 812-663-8455 or the Clerk.
Decatur County Remote Hearing Limits
The IN Courts remote-hearing page can provide a live access link when a court publishes one. It is not a recording archive, and no Decatur-specific replay page was found.

A calendar listing does not promise a video link. Follow the court's direct instructions for remote attendance.
Decatur Calendar Versus Case Docket
The calendar is a near-term settings view. The CCS is the running case chronology. A citation or summons can control the initial appearance, and a signed order can control a reset. Compare the sources rather than treating one screen as the whole record.
| Source | Best use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar | Near-term public settings | Not all courts or hearings display |
| MyCase CCS | Dated case events | Documents can be missing |
| Order or notice | Case-specific direction | Must be the current version |
MyCase can show a hearing-scheduling event, an appearance date, a court order, or a disposition date. These dates serve different roles. A disposition date is not automatically the next hearing, and a motion to continue does not prove that a setting moved. Open the newest relevant event and check for an attached signed order. When no attachment is public, ask the Decatur County Clerk or assigned court to confirm the active setting.
The Indiana calendar notice also warns that some courts do not publish schedules online. That point is especially important in Decatur because the inspected dropdown returned Superior Court but not Circuit Court. A 16C01 case should be confirmed through Circuit Court or the Clerk. A 16D01 case can be checked against the Superior calendar, but silence there still calls for direct confirmation.
Federal calendar research follows a separate path. CourtListener can offer a free, incomplete research layer for some federal entries.

Verify federal dates in PACER or with the federal court; CourtListener is not an official Decatur County source.
The state also publishes weighted caseload material for system context.

Aggregate workload data does not confirm any individual's hearing date.
